Oberleutnant Galen Steiner mused as he made his way through the woodline at the edge of the road that Intelligenzburo probably had it wrong again. On the last three patrols or missions they had been sent out, the information Intelligenzburo supplied them was radically incorrect. The first two outings resulted in no contact whatsoever with the Fed-Stat forces. The third time no contact was expected and they ran into a full company of Fed-Stat armor. His platoon had taken it hard before they could pull out and escape the fiasco.

And now here he was, with what was left of his platoon, having been sent out by Command at the behest of the Intelligenzburo to find a significantly sized Fed-Stat unit supposedly moving through the area. He was to take his unit and set an observation post up on Hill 295. But in this terrain, this far from the main combat area, it didn't make a lot of sense. Then again, who knew with the---

"Sir," interrupted his EW expert, "I have acquired something. It is moving on the grid in Sector 7 Beta 3. Approaching Hill 295."

The Ancient Outpost discovered above P5K-777 had seemed like a possible treasure trove of Ancient technology and information. That's why the SGC sent in SG-3, SG-9, SG-11, SG-21 and SG-22. While information about the site was being collected on various nearby worlds, someone in the Lucian Alliance got wind of the operation and the Alliance wants the technology as well, inserting their own teams to take the facility.

The Stargate is now down (cannot dial in and establish a wormhole) and both sides are racing to get ships into the area with further boarding parties to secure the Ancient Outpost. Brutal spaceborne and stationborne battles are sure to ensue.

Another faction has discovered the Outpost and is not at all sanguine about representatives of either faction of an inferior and backward race attempting to acquire such a technological treasure trove. Only a truly advanced species can be entrusted to use this technology for the right sorts of purposes....

A game for 4-8 players set in the Stargate Universe using Stargate Armada rules (modified Full Thrust rules tailored to the flavour of the Stargate Universe). Will the Tau'ri drive back the ambitious Lucian Alliance and recover the Ancient Outpost for the SGC? Will the Lucian Alliance drive back the power-hungry Tau-ri and obtain the technology for themselves? And what hand will the Others play?

TABLE 5Showdown at Tuffley's Gulch
SystemFMA Skirmish - Western
Game MasterTom Barclay
Players4 - 8 playersComplexity
Tuffley's Gulch was a hard town. The land was as hard as rock, the men that worked the land were hard men, and the licqour was harder . The town had seen every sort of drifter, grifter, scumbag, soldier, bounty hunter, criminal, cattle rustler, gunfighter, and even occasionally a Canadian. It wasn't the sort of place any self-respecting person would stay and if they did, they wouldn't be staying self-respecting for long.

Sheriff Stuart "Sixgun" MacMurray has a problem; He arrested some of Boss Kochte's boys for being drunk, disorderly, dishevelled, dishonourable, and for perpetrating various offenses against the King's English. Boss Kochte, owner of the K-Bar Ranch, doesn't like folk who interfere with things they ought not to be interfering with if they want to keep breathin'. The K-Bar boys are coming to town and soon enough, some uppity Lawmen will be moving into the local cemetary. Of course, Sheriff MacMurray isn't an idiot and has called in the Lancaster County Irregulars for backup.

It's High Noon in Tuffley's Gulch. The stage is set for a confrontation between the Lawmen and the K-Bar Cowboys.

Then again, nobody told the new visitors. They have their own plans. It's a good day for a Hunt.

A game for 4-8 players with a cinematic flair and where role-playing is encouraged, played out using FMA Skirmish rules modified for the Wild West setting. Strap on your six-guns, load your Winchester, shove some buckshot shells into the street howitzer and help to settle just who will be running Tuffley's Gulch by the end of the day. And more importantly, who will be sitting in the saloon and who will be lying in the bone orchard beside the Church come sundown....
